Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. Who we are

Cadence ("we", "us") is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@cadence.app for any question about your data.

This policy applies to the Cadence mobile app and this website. It explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect

Account data: your name, email address and password when you create an account.

Health and training data: your goals, training sessions, workouts, heart rate and GPS data you sync from connected services (such as Apple Health, Google Fit or Strava), plus the training plans Cadence generates for you.

Coach conversation data: the messages you exchange with the Cadence AI coach.

Technical data: device type, operating system, app version and crash reports, used to keep the app working.

We do not collect special categories of data beyond what you or your connected services provide for training purposes, and we do not use your data for advertising.

3. Why we use your data (and our legal bases)

To provide the service — building and adapting your training plans, powering the AI coach and syncing your sessions. Legal basis: performance of the contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Health and training data are processed only with your explicit consent, given when you connect a health service or enable training features (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time in the app settings.

To keep the app secure, fix bugs and improve features on aggregated, anonymised data. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

To send you service messages (plan changes, coach check-ins) and, only with your consent, product news. You can opt out at any time.

4. Who we share data with

We work with a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf, including our cloud hosting provider, our AI provider (which powers the coach) and our payment provider if you subscribe. They may only process your data to deliver the service, under data processing agreements.

AI processing: messages you send to the coach are processed by our AI provider to generate responses. Do not include health details you do not want processed.

We never sell your personal data. We only share data outside the EU with providers in countries recognised as providing adequate protection, or covered by standard contractual clauses.

We may disclose data if required by law, and only to the extent necessary.

5. How long we keep your data

Account data: kept while your account is active.

Training and conversation data: kept while your account is active, so your coach keeps its context. You can delete it at any time.

Technical and crash data: kept up to 12 months.

After that, data is deleted or anonymised, except where a longer retention is required by law.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.

You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app (settings, export and account deletion) or by writing to privacy@cadence.app. We answer within one month.

If you are in the EU and believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. If you are in France, that is the CNIL (cnil.fr).

7. Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses only strictly necessary technical storage, such as keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

The app may use local storage on your device to keep your session and preferences.

8. Security and changes to this policy

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, and limit access to those who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will notify you of significant changes in the app or by email, and the date below always shows the current version.
